David has specialized in energy and related technologies for over 30 years. He is a seasoned project developer with experience in projects across the world. David’s skills span research and development, sales and marketing and construction with oil companies, technology companies, the US Federal Government, and inside regulated utility companies.
David is a recognized expert in implementing energy programs for governments and utilities. He is currently focused on the transition of the electricity business as utilities respond to market changes driven by low priced natural gas, renewable generation and the ‘Internet of Everything’. These create unprecedented opportunities for energy businesses to provide new value to consumers.
Current engagements include the Department of Energy and US Army, where David has helped senior leaders develop new policies and programs to attract private sector investments in infrastructure improvements for resilient energy systems. McGeown provides governments with sustainable energy policy and execution advice as a member of Clean Energy Solutions Center operated by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Similar engagement support the US Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority, Belize Energy Ministry, and Puerto Rico Energy Affairs Administration.
